Hotel Planning and Design (HTM3443) has been taught by Mr Devendren throughout the entire semester 6.By the way, it is a interesting subject for me to learn in terms of the overview of hotel structure and the way of drawing a hotel layout.Therefore, this subject has been divided into two components which is teory and practical class.
During the learning process, we are given a assignment which required us to draw a restaurant layout and explain in details attached with the report by using a software called "AUTOCAD". It is a tough project for us since we need a lot of knowledge how we going to draw a table,chair,door and etc. At the beginning,we divided all the task among our group members which few of them are doing for drawing and the less are doing for report.
First of all, drawing dimensions has been given by lecturer whereby we still facing the problem of how we going to draw for the entire fine dining restaurant. After a few discussion,we got a idea of using appropriate of the accurate size of command to start for it. Communication skills for this project play as a important role which every group members have to discuss what are the basic requirement and facilities needed in a fine dining restaurant.
By the way, the most difficulties part for us is the knowledge of using AUTOCAD for drawing. It is a kind of challenging when this assignment is required to do so. However,all the members have to communicate with each other and try their best to complete it based on the timeline given by group leader. The second part for us is time management among ourselves. Everyone is seems to be busy due to there is a lot of assignment are going on as well.
Since the submission of assignment is just around the corner, the only things i do not contribute more is on the drawing part. Due to group work,i have to force myself to contribute more on it otherwise we are not able to finish it on time. In the future, I would think that this software might help us to have an idea of our hotel or house design in the future because it is quite costly for hiring a interior designer in this case.
